Our Story

This is not your typical sightseeing tour. Guests on board the BIG Pink Sightseeing Hop-On Hop-Off tour will not only be delighted by local sights and entertained by our knowledgeable tour guides, they will also be supporting Breast Cancer research around the world. For every guest riding on our distinctively pink buses, a contribution to the local Breast Cancer Foundation will be made by the local tour operator.

The partnership between BIG Pink Sightseeing and the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation began in 2010 in Atlantic Canada. It started when Dennis Campbell, CEO of BIG Pink Sightseeing, contacted the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation and asked about the possibility of establishing a fleet of pink double-decker buses. Dennis had previously assisted the foundation on a campaign to increase Breast Cancer awareness and to promote the importance of early screening. He believed that a fleet of pink buses could continue to promote the cause. The partnership was an opportunity to keep an exceptional cause at the forefront of people’s minds, while continuing to grow Dennis’s already successful business, Ambassatours Gray Line. With an enthusiastic agreement from the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, BIG Pink Sightseeing was born.

BIG Pink Sightseeing operated by Ambassatours Gray Line launched in the summer of 2010 in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada. Initial hopes were to raise $10,000 for Breast Cancer Research. By the close of the season they had donated more than $30,000 to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. With the support of Gray Line Tours, BIG Pink Sightseeing began to work with Breast Cancer Foundations and tour operators around the world.

With their belief that “There’s never enough pink till there’s a cure” firmly in place, BIG Pink Sightseeing has since expanded and will be starting operations in Vancouver, British Columbia operated by Gray Line of Vancouver / West Coast Sightseeing in the spring of 2011.

“Working with BIG PINK SIGHTSEEING has been an absolute pleasure. They are a terrific partner and corporate citizen and have shown major commitment to helping the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation” says Nancy Margeson, CEO, Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation – Atlantic Region.

“Our goal is to someday contribute over $1,000,000 per year to Breast Cancer research worldwide. We believe its a fantastic way to contribute to a great cause while enjoying an amazing sightseeing tour of the city your visiting. With the help of Gray Line’s network of over 700 operators in 150 countries, we believe we can get there” stated Dennis Campbell, President of BIG Pink Sightseeing.

Working with Gray Line Worldwide will allow the BIG PINK SIGHTSEEING to expand into the global market.

Gray Line Worldwide CEO Brad Weber states “Having considered the absolutely incredible effect I think this campaign can have on raising breast cancer awareness, it is with great pride I pledge the support of Gray Line Worldwide in making  BIG PINK SIGHTSEEING a truly, global initiative. The collective ability we have to introduce these travelers to BIG PINK SIGHTSEEING, raise breast cancer awareness and generate a global groundswell of support is worthy of our time and effort to make it a reality.”
