Never Enough Pink Until There Is A Cure – Hop On The (Pink) Bus Gus!
Ambassatours Gray Line, Atlantic Canada’s largest Motor Coach and Tour Operator, is expanding its ‘Big Pink Sightseeing’ operation to Halifax, Nova Scotia, in time for the 2011 cruise season.
Ambassatours Gray Line will be operating 18 pink buses (fourteen pink antique London Buses and 4 pink motor coaches) in Halifax offering ‘Hop On Hop Off’ city tours by pink buses to passengers on cruise ship days.
As a company that strives to give back to the community, Ambassatours Gray Line has partnered with the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation (CBCF) to brand the pink buses as the “Big Pink Sightseeing Tour”. Throughout the tourist season one dollar of each tour ticket sold will be donated to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. Nancy Margeson, CEO of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, Atlantic Region, said “From pink ribbons to pink elephants, we thought we had seen it all – until the “Big Pink Sightseeing Tour”! The awareness and support for breast cancer that will be generated by the presence of multiple pink buses wearing the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation brand, is unlimited! The CBCF is committed to a future without breast cancer… Together Ambassatours Gray Line and the CBCF can accomplish great things. Last year Ambassatours Gray Line invested in over $50,000 in painting 8 Saint John based buses pink and launched the ‘Big Pink Sightseeing’ tour in Saint John NB and generated over $30,000 in cash and $150,000 in kind donations for the cause! This year, they have invested much more in painting 18 Halifax buses pink! In addition, they are also donating to the CBCF 5% of all pink bus charter requests throughout the year. We love the “Big Pink Sightseeing” slogan of ‘Never Enough Pink Until There Is A Cure’”
The Big Pink Buses will follow three routes throughout the city: A – All about Town Loop, B – Boardwalk / Waterfront Loop and C – Changing of the Guard. Tour tickets purchased are good for all three routes and will run continuously throughout each cruise ship day.
Ambassatours Gray Line will be donating 100% of proceeds of the Big Pink Bus tour tickets for the first 2 days of operation to kick off the season on May 7 and 8, 2011. As well, they will be donating “Big Pink” buses for breast cancer fund raisers like the Run For The Cure in October. Ambassatours Gray Line will be offering guided tours of Halifax on the “Big Pink” buses for the general public from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. on both May 7 and 8, departing from the Halifax Seaport – Harbourwalk South. To board the tour either May 7 or 8, suggested donations of at least $5.00 per person or $10.00 per family to experience the tour will go directly to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. The company is hoping to donate at least $5000 from the 2 days. If you are battling breast cancer or are a survivor, you will travel free for the weekend. Come dressed with some pink and take your photo beside the pink buses!
